Médicos Del Mundo is an international humanitarian organization, working in the Palestinian territory with the objective of endorsing the Universal Right to Health. MdM has been working in the Palestinian territory since 2006. Its work has been mainly focused on Mental Health and Psychosocial support (MHPSS), medical disciplines related to emergency situations, like orthopedic and reconstructive surgeries, as well as emergency services. Currently, MdM is supporting the capacities of the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) in Gaza to improve the accessibility of children and adolescents to specialized mental health services, and to improve its capacities in the provision of specialized medical and surgical care in orthopedics. In the West Bank, MdM is working in the psychosocial protection of the population at risk of political violence due to the occupation. In addition, MdM includes an advocacy component in all its activities in order to raise awareness among the population leading to a political change.
Abu Hwaij Assruance and Consulting was awarded a contract serving as a sexual reproductive health expert conducting a needs assessment study, producing awareness material , and train and build staff capacity in the domain of sexual and reproductive health and rights as part of “Improvement of capacities of SRH services in Jericho to detect and manage GBV cases, including PSS perspective. oPt.” Project .
The project is funded by Xunta this consultancy has contributed to the strengthening of the capacities of health service providers to provide sexual and reproductive health, GBV and psychosocial care services. As well as the promotion of protection spaces for the three entitlements, according to the Rights approach (Right Holders, Responsibility Holders and Obligation Holders).
